Felony Charges Filed in Two Breaking and Entering Incidents
On Wednesday, February 18, 2024, Hot Spring County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to the Lono Cemetery regarding Multiple Vehicles being broken into. Deputies followed up at Wal-Mart in Malvern.
Two (2) unknown persons of interest were depicted and a four-door passenger car matching the vehicle description of the Toyota at the Cemetery were in the file. These individuals were observed leaving in a 2022 Toyota Corolla. From this investigation, the suspects were identified, and charges were filed.
Charges include multiple counts of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Breaking and Entering, Theft of Property, and Fraudulent use of a credit or debit card. All are felony charges.
On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Hot Spring County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to Meadowview Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy 270 for a Breaking and Entering. Deputies arrived at the Meadowview Missionary Baptist Church and made contact with the victim.
Victim was inside the church for several hours before going back outside to find the back passenger window had been busted out, and personal items including $1100 cash, bank and credit cards had been stolen. Victim's bank and credit card companies made notification to the victim that fraudulent charges were being made at the Central Avenue Wal-Mart in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Victim advised that approximately $5000 in damage and been done to the vehicle.
Hot Spring County Sheriff's Office Detective, Sgt. Medlin, was able to obtain video surveillance footage from both the Meadowview Missionary Baptist Church and the Walmart on Central Ave. From this investigation, a suspect was identified, and charges were filed. Charges include Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Theft of Property, Breaking and Entering, and Fraudulent use of a credit or debit card. All are felony charges.
